What this site is
Offender Map publishes a read-only, static snapshot of publicly available sex offender registry records for North Carolina, Florida, Texas, Georgia, Missouri, and the District of Columbia alongside school locations, so visitors can see registered addresses in relation to nearby schools. This site is an independent, unofficial project. It is not affiliated with, and is not endorsed by, any of the state agencies listed below or any other state agency.
Data sources
| State | Registry | Published by |
|---|---|---|
| North Carolina | North Carolina Sex Offender and Public Protection Registry | North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation (NCSBI) |
| Florida | Florida Sexual Offender and Predator Registry | Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) |
| Texas | Texas Public Sex Offender Registry | Texas Department of Public Safety (TxDPS) |
| Georgia | Georgia Sex Offender Registry | Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) |
| Missouri | Missouri Sex Offender Registry | Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP) |
| District of Columbia | DC Sex Offender Registry dataset | Court Services and Offender Supervision Agency (CSOSA) |
School locations are sourced from the federal NCES public school directory for all six states. North Carolina additionally maps a state private-school directory and a national licensed child care center file.
What each state's map shows
Each state's registry publishes different information, and this site never shows a characterization a state didn't publish:
| State | Shown on this site |
|---|---|
| North Carolina | The offense/conviction description. No demographic data. Also maps private schools and licensed child care centers alongside public schools. |
| Florida | No registry characterizations at all — no offense data, predator designation, or registration status. Only photo, name, address/city, distance to nearby schools, and a link to the official FDLE record, because Florida's public data file contains no offense information to characterize. |
| Texas | The offense description, plus a risk level (High/Moderate/Low) that is TxDPS's own assessment. It is always labelled as TxDPS's finding (for example, “TxDPS risk: Low”), never restated as this site's judgement. A record TxDPS has not assessed shows nothing rather than an “unknown” label. |
| Georgia | The offense description, registry-reported address/county, registration and verification dates, and conviction date/state where available. Physical descriptions, the separate predator flag, and the registry's leveling value are not displayed. |
| Missouri | The Missouri site shows the MSHP export's reported name, address, county, birth date, and offense descriptions. It uses only the main workbook: the export is offense-level and has no stable person ID, so same-name/date-of-birth profiles with different addresses or statuses are preserved separately and may over-count people. Address coordinates are approximate geocodes and may not reflect a current residence. Compliance status is used to exclude addresses for records reported incarcerated, moved out of state, absconded, or pending; the export's Tier value is not shown or interpreted. The main workbook's reported totals do not establish the number of unique people. |
| District of Columbia | The public export provides generalized block-level points. Only one unambiguous HOME block is mapped; WORK and SCHOOL locations are excluded, and conflicting home blocks remain unmapped. Physical descriptions and classification values are not displayed. |
How the map is built
Location precision varies by jurisdiction. Address geocodes and ZIP centroids are approximate; the DC registry provides generalized block-level points and only an unambiguous HOME block is mapped. Administrative and placeholder addresses are not mapped. A block or geocoded point does not confirm who currently lives at a location. "Nearby" distances are straight-line (great-circle), not driving distances.
Update schedule
Each state's site — offender records, addresses, and county/school pages — is rebuilt from that state's registry on a daily basis. Street-address and ZIP-centroid geocoding is refreshed incrementally where used; DC block-level points come from the registry export. The current snapshot's build time is shown at the top of the home page and on every county page.
Limitations & corrections
This site reproduces public records as published and may lag behind, omit, or mis-locate individual entries due to geocoding limitations, registry update timing, or data-entry issues in the source records. It should not be used as a substitute for the official registry. For the authoritative, current record on any individual, or to report an error in an official registration, use that state's official registry — linked in the table above — directly.
Editorial responsibility & corrections
Offender Map is the publisher and maintainer of this independent site. The methodology on this page was last reviewed September 15, 2026. Reports about a broken link, display error, or possible mapping error are reviewed through the contact page; the goal is to acknowledge actionable site reports within five business days. Official registry corrections must be made by the publishing state agency.
Material methodology and source changes are documented in the project's public repository history.
